Scoville Salsa

Ingredients

1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro

2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cloves garlic

1 whole tomato

1/2 red onion

1/2 fresh hot pepper of choice, chopped and seeded, such as Anaheim for mild, jalapeno for medium, habanero for hot salsa

Pinch salt

4 cups corn chips

Directions

  1. In a blender or food processor, add the cilantro, lime juice, olive oil, garlic, tomato, onion, pepper of desired heat and salt. Turn the blender on slowly, and then increase the speed, using a tamping stick to ensure all ingredients get processed. Blend until coarsely pureed. Pour into a bowl and serve with the corn chips.
