Nona Flye's Cole Slaw

Ingredients

Dressing:

1 cup mayonnaise

3/4 cup sugar 

3 tablespoons white vinegar 

2 tablespoons milk 

2 tablespoons grated white onion 

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 teaspoon paprika 

Slaw:

1/2 head green cabbage

1/2 head red cabbage 

2 carrots, peeled 

1 green bell pepper 

1/2 cup golden raisins 

4 strips cooked bacon, chopped

Directions

Special equipment:
a mandoline
  1. For the dressing: Whisk together the mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, milk, onion, salt and paprika in a medium bowl.
  2. For the slaw: Using a mandolin, thinly slice the green and red cabbages, carrots and peppers and transfer to a large bowl. Add the raisins, bacon and dressing and toss together until well coated. Let the slaw sit at room temperature for 20 minutes and up to 1 hour before serving.
