Ingredients

Two 1 1/2-inch-thick T-bone steaks (about 3 pounds)

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt 

Himalayan salt and freshly-ground black pepper

Directions

  1. Preheat the broiler on high, with an oven rack 6 inches from the heating element.
  2. Sprinkle the steaks with the red pepper flakes, seasoned salt, 1 teaspoon Himalayan salt and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
  3. Broil the steaks for about 5 minutes per side for rare or 7 minutes per side for medium; check every few minutes to make sure the broiler is not burning the steaks.
  4. Let the steaks rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
