The family has just arrived at their home in Italy. All Debi Mazar and the girls want is to relax, but Gabriele Corcos has invited guests for dinner so there's no time. Instead, they pick apricots which they will grill for an appetizer, and head to a local goat farm for cheese. They make homemade ice cream for dessert and harvest cherries for a compote to ladle over the sweet treat. Then, to top it all off, Gabriele builds a fire in the heat of the day to make Pasta Alla Norma With Grilled Eggplant and Debi makes a Salad with green radicchio and a Lemon and Olive Oil Dressing.
The family heads to Siena, Italy, to see some friends in a play and then enjoy a congratulatory meal. Gabriele Corcos is determined to make his friends their favorite dishes even though he's never cooked them before. To get a leg up on his dish, he learns how to make Pici pasta, a specialty of Siena, which he pairs with a simple sauce with olive oil, garlic, hot pepper and tomatoes. He also makes a Lardo Crostini and Debi Mazar makes a Zucchini Carpaccio.
Gabriele Corcos and Debi Mazar want to give Gabriele's brother, Fabio, a party to remember. They make a plan to ride motorcycles and cook a meal for Fabio. While driving to the raceway, Debi and Gabriele stop to make Tortalone with an adorable old couple. From there, it's on to the track for the celebration. They share a meal of Porcini Mushroom Crostini, Tortalone with a three-meat Bolognese sauce and Profiteroles for dessert.
Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos make dinner plans to celebrate their first kiss by the Arno River, but miss their reservation. So Gabriele makes a special meal at home with Risotto With Speck and Cantaloupe, Arugula Salad With Grilled Calamari and Zabaglione, Italian custard over fresh fruit.
The family moves to Brooklyn and Debi Mazar is eager to show Gabriele Corcos her old neighborhood. They learn to brew beer, find a wonderful butcher and fantastic corner store and buy the supplies for their first backyard barbecue. The barbecue features Ribs, Sausages Braised in Beer and Spices, Potatoes Grilled en Cartoccio and Beet and Pear Salad With Gorgonzola Cheese.
In their tiny Brooklyn backyard, Gabriele Corcos is trying to recreate a bit of the garden he has in Italy, but needs help from some local folks who know how to make urban green. He and Debi Mazar go to Riverpark Farm to learn about creating their plot and then to Prospect Park to learn about what they can harvest in nature. Inspired by their teachings and ingredients collected, Gabriele and Debi make Quail With Wild Cherry and Barolo Sauce, Sauteed Wild Greens, Creamy Quick Polenta and Green Gazpacho.
Fascinated by Italian-American food, Robert takes Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos up to Arthur Avenue, the epicenter of Italian culture in New York. They make pasta and mozzarella, purchase homemade Italian salami and even play bocce. In homage to the unique Italian-American cuisine, Gabriele makes his take on baked ziti, a fresh green Salad and Cannoli with orange liquor and orange zest.
Debi Mazar thinks that Gabriele Corcos has forgotten about her birthday, but doesn't know that while she's out for the day, he's putting together a surprise party. While Debi's enjoying a boat ride in Central Park, Gabriele is getting all the details together and preparing a fabulous meal that starts with a Charcuterie Platter, continues with Eggplant Parmesan and Asparagus Involtini and ends with a beautiful birthday cake!
Eager to get his name known in New York culinary circles, Gabriele Corcos hosts a party for 24 famous foodies. He and Debi Mazar take a trip to New York's premiere Italian market, Eataly, to get inspiration for his menu. He decides on Ribolita, Beef Tartar, Roasted Potatoes and Rabbit Cacciatore for the big meal.
Gabriele Corcos and Debi Mazar are planning a romantic sunset sail for their anniversary, but Gabriele falls ill and Debi has to nurse him to health. She makes him a Green Smoothie and Nonna Lola's Beef Broth and Lesso Rifatto, a hearty Tuscan stew. Feeling better, Gabriele packs a beautiful picnic including Shrimp, Watercress and Farro Salad for their sail.
Debi Mazar and Gabriele Corcos' daughters are feeling homesick for Los Angeles, so they go to Coney Island to show them the fun of New York. The next weekend, they host a party with local families. Gabriele Corcos is hired as the Executive Chef at the Montauk Yacht Club on the southern tip of Long Island. The family journeys out east to visit their friends Anthony and Ottavia Bourdain, while Gabriele goes fishing to get inspiration for a new summer dish. Later at the house, Gabriele prepares Tuna Tartar With Basil, Lobster Arrabiata and a delicious Caipirinha cocktail.
It's early afternoon at home and Gabriele Corcos is grilling Bistecca Alla Fiorentina for Debi Mazar, with Grilled Endive and Radicchio With Gorgonzola and Sage-Infused Olive Oil on the side. Gabriele is also preparing for a big cooking event called Meatopia. He makes Carpaccio Pizza and Roasted Sunchokes With Salsa Verde to feed the event's 2,000 attendees.
